Along with waterfowl, warblers, and thrushes, this area is located on an active raptor migration path with its proximity to Lake Huron.

Warblers, woodpeckers, Peregrine falcons, hawks, sparrows, and owls are often seen here. Rare sightings include Red-necked Grebes, Surf scoters, Green herons, and Pileated woodpeckers.
