The main draw is abundant waterfowl, and several species of gulls. Redhead and Canvasback ducks and Swans are abundant, especially during winter and spring migration. Bald Eagles are regularly sighted as they soar along the shoreline in search of a fish dinner.

Visitors can expect to see diving ducks and a variety of gulls. Rare sightings include waterfowl such as Bufflehead ducks, Redhead ducks, Red-Breasted mergansers, and Bald eagles.
