The park features access to the river and its large variety of waterfowl, including several gull species and many local diving and dabbling ducks, including abundant populations of Redhead and Canvasback ducks.

As of early 2022, this location is not popular with local birders. That may change in the future with new park development. The area is visited by various waterfowl, including gulls, Redhead, and Ring-necked ducks.
