RIVER BENDS PARK BURGESS-SHADBUSH NATURE CENTER

4101 River Bends Drive, Shelby Township

More than 70 species of birds have been identified here. This Nature Center and tract is located in the northwest section of River Bends Park. It was named for volunteer Jo Burgess and the large Shadbush trees in the area. The nature center regularly plays host to family nature programs and regular nature walks. In addition, there is a nature garden and open spaces for children. Although the trails can sometimes be muddy/soft/mushy, most are flat and easy to negotiate.
