WETZEL STATE RECREATION AREA

27 Mile Road, west of Werderman Road, Lenox Township

This area is known for waterfowl as well as grassland sparrows and the occasional Bobolink. A wide variety of species including shorebirds, terns and gulls have been seen in the various ponds and along the trails of this park. The wetlands attract several species of special concern such as Marsh Wrens, Common Gallinules, Least Bitterns and Forester’s Terns.
